Bhaskaracharya: The Great Indian Mathematician

India has always been a source of knowlege and light of guidance for whole world. It was never doubted that various field of studies evolved in India and than spreaded in whole world. Although Indian scientists had not been in light but they are the real discoveres, other scientist merely patented there discoveries in their name.
Bhaskaracharya is such a great scientist not much known but is true discoverer and great person.

Bhaskaracharya: (1114 A.D-1185 A.D)

He was born on 1114 A.D at Bijapur, Karnatka in Sayadrihill.

Contributions of   Bhaskaracharya:

1. He was first to declare that any number divided by zero is infinity and that sum of any no. and infinity is infinity.

2. He wrote famous book Sidhanta Siromani(1150 A.D) which had four sections:

(i) Leelavati: (A book on artihmetic): He wrote this book on name of his daughter Leelavati. Leelavati was a beautiful girl but somehow she was not getting married. She was quite upset as she was not getting married. Bhaskacharya was great astronomer so he predicted time when she will get married, he gave her a time-piece and said, "Leelavati when water of upper portion of this timepiece gets emptied drop by drop, that time you will get married. But one day bead of Leelavati fell into timepiece causing flow of water to stop. As flow of water was stopped know Leelavati could not get married and she become quite sad. Bhaskaracharya said her that daughter dont be sad, know it is not possible for you to get married but I will write a book to which I will give your name and you will become famous. Thats why he wrote book "Leelavati".

(ii) Bijaganita: On algebra

(iii) Galadnayaya: Chapter on sphere-celestial globe.

(iv) Granoganita: Mathematics of planets.

3. He introduced Chakrawal what is know called cyclic method to solve algebraic expressions.

4. He gave an example of what is know called "Differential Coeffecient" and basic idea of what is know called "Rolles Theorem"

5. He also gave concept of Tatkalika-gati( Instantaneous motion).

6. He gave formulae of circle and sphere.

7. He also had knowlege of Dhatikatamk Shakti(Gravitational Force) which we today think is contribution of Newton.

Such great was Bhaskaracharya and even greater were his thinking and discoveries. He is such a big source of inspiration to we Indian's and make us feel proud of our past.
